If you were lying on the Met Gala floor, in metres of Brandon Maxwell taffeta, a behemoth bustle and sky-high platform boots – how would you get up? Well, if you’re Lady Gaga you have some help. A lot of help.

After filming a rather precarious video for Vogue US, Lady Gaga found herself in the quite the fashionable pickle. Of course, being the good / performative sport she is, Gaga indulged a little dramatic floor action for the shoot. Only problem was, once she was down, she couldn’t get back up. Firstly, there was the platform boots to deal with. Then, of course, the gigantic bow. Don’t even get started on the mile-long train. So of course, when you’re a mighty mega star like Gaga, not one, two, or three people come to your aid. But four. Four people. The same number of people as there were red carpet costume changes.

And Gaga being Gaga, even her hoist from the Met marble was theatrical and all kinds of extravagant. That face. That frenzy. That final, dramatic undulation. A “camp” ascension, indeed.
