NEW YORK CITY: Is this Adriana Lima’s swan song? While it will be confirmed at an official level overnight, GRAZIA is on the ground in the Big Apple and has heard Lima will be walking her last show at this year’s Victoria’s Secret spectacle on Thursday night.
The 37-year-old model who has been working for the lingerie giant since 1999 has been busy training with celebrity trainer Kirk Myers at Soho’s Dogpound gym. But it was an interview with Australian/Kiwi model Georgia Fowler which seemed to confirm the 26-year-old had intel this would be Lima’s last VS runway. When GRAZIA asked Fowler who her favourite angel was, she said she always looked up to Adriana Lima. “It will be her last year this year I think, but she’s done it for so many years and continues to look amazing on the catwalk and up against the younger girls.”
So there you have it. A little tid-bit to pop into your wings.
Arguably the most famous Victoria’s Secret supermodel of all time and the last standing from the original Amazonians (Heidi Klum, Alessandra Ambrosio, Gisele Bündchen and Tyra Banks) Lima is the longest serving angel having walked the runway for 19 years. Upon Ambrosio hanging up her wings last year, Lima did remark she’d go for the 20-year milestone. We shall see.
