Jennifer Lopez is the indisputable Queen of the Glow. And whilst some may have come close (Beyonce, Riri and Kim, et al.), J. Lo was rocking a supremely baked, bronzed and glow-y guise long before highlighting and strobing was even a thing. Quite simply, she’s the bronzing OG.
So, when her makeup artist, Scott Barnes, recently commented on an Instagram post revealing she was launching her own bronzer, we weren’t the least bit surprised (rather, wondered why it had taken so long?). Posting a shot of Lopez on his personal Instagram account – deeply contoured, bronzed and glowing, as per usual – Barnes then replied to a user’s query about the exact bronzer used to create the look.
“I’m using a bronzer that @Jlo is making it’s pretty amazing!! Shhh.”
Shhh is definitely not the reaction that ensued on the internet. Speculation flooded the page as Lopez devotees grappled with the idea of a potential cosmetics – even skin – line. The what, when and if rolled out in their digital droves as fans desperately tried to decipher the comment. Is the bronzer the beginning of an entire Lopez makeup line (please, beauty God, please)? Or is it just a glorious single product drop, perhaps in collaboration with another already established beauty brand?
Time will tell, but in the meantime, a girl (or boy) can only dream. Imagine a dedicated J-Glow brand that brings the Lopez beauty to the people – bottled and ready to go.
