Jada Pinkett Smith has criticised the new Tupac biopic, All Eyez On Me, for the way in which, she says, it inaccurately depicts their relationship. In a long Twitter tirade across the weekend, the actress picked out the factual errors which are allegedly featured in the new film. “The reimagining of my relationship to Pac has been deeply hurtful.”

While pointing out she means no disrespect to actors Kat Graham and Demetrius Shipp Jr – “you both did a beautiful job with that you were given” – Smith says her relationship with the rapper was “too precious” to her for the scenes in the film to stand as truth.

Smith and Shakur met in college in the 1980s in Maryland and became best friends. She says the relationship didn’t turn romantic but rather was platonic. “You know, it’s so funny because now being older, I have more of an understanding of what that was between us. When you have two young people that have very strong feelings, but there was no physical chemistry between us at all, and it wasn’t even just for me — it was him too,” she said in an interview.

From backstage arguments that didn’t happen to Shakur never reading a poem to her, read Smith’s gripes with the script below:
