Jennifer Aniston became emotional as she accepted the Screen Actors Guild award for Outstanding Performance By A Female Actor In A Drama Series. Forever fighting that unlucky-in-love narrative in the press, it was heart-warming to see the 50-year-old recognised for the role of her career; Alex Levy, the clever and sharp-shooting anchor woman in Apple TV+’s The Morning Show (or Morning Wars as it’s titled if streamed in Australia).
The crowd roared as she won and Aniston burst into tears.
No need to be surprised Jen — you are pure talent! #sagawards pic.twitter.com/MhKCQz24ak

Ironically, it was Brad Pitt who was one of the first to congratulate his ex-wife backstage. He was seen glued to a monitor smiling as Aniston gave her acceptance speech.
And then, it was reunion and the picture the world had been waiting to see. Both winners – and together in the same frame – Aniston and Pitt shared a congratulatory hug.
One more angle:
Pitt also took home the SAG award for Outstanding Performance By A Male Actor In A Supporting Role for his character Cliff Booth in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. During his acceptance speech, he joked that playing Cliff was “a big stretch” given he’s “a guy who gets high, takes his shirt off and doesn’t get on with his wife.” The cameras of course zoomed in on Aniston who gracefully smiled.
Thank you #SAGAwards for giving a very clear look at Jennifer Aniston’s face when Brad Pitt joked playing a “guy who gets high, takes his shirt off and doesn’t get on with his wife” was a stretch. pic.twitter.com/rpbVxtF5Ov

Long known for her roles as rom-com damsels in movies like She’s The One, The Object Of My Affection, Picture Perfect and Along Came Polly, The Morning Show proved Aniston’s depth and range as an actor.
Playing co-anchors to the biggest breakfast television show in America, the seasoned Alex Levy and newcomer Bradley Jackson (played by Reese Witherspoon) didn’t initially see eye to eye. While both their careers were upended after former co-host Mitch Kessler (Steve Carell) is fired for sexual misconduct, it’s been nine drama-filled episodes of network execs attempting to bamboozle the women to push their personal objectives.
Aniston is rarely nominated for such prestigious awards. It’s likely this scene – where Alex lays down the law before a phalanx of blue suits – earned the actress a nomination. “America loves me. And therefore I own America” says Alex in a crimson coat, reminiscent of a Revolutionary War uniform.

In all honesty, America really does Jennifer Aniston.
