Perennially youthful-looking actors Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon have revealed they are both cohorts of the intermittent fasting regime, a practise where you only eat food within an eight-hour window every day. (Before you say it, yes, it’s very Rachel and Jill Green.)

The stars of The Morning Show – a new comedy-drama which follows the lives and relationships of the men and women on a popular American morning news program – told UK magazine Radio Times that they both fast for 16 hours (which includes sleeping), leaving them eight hours in the day to fuel up with food.

“I do intermittent fasting, so there’s no food in the morning,” Aniston, 50, told the magazine. “I noticed a big difference in going without solid food for 16 hours.”

The former Friends star says it’s not too hard for her to stave off any hunger given she’s a “night owl” who usually wakes at around 8.30 or 9am. “Today, I woke up and had a celery juice,” Aniston said. “Then I started to brew some coffee, but I don’t drink coffee that early.” She said she then fed her dogs, meditated and worked out before drinking said coffee. Aniston exercises five days a week.

Witherspoon wakes much earlier and with a juice and coffee in hand, she is in fact a morning person. “I find it really hard to work out before 7:30 a.m. But that’s the time I start one: 7:30 am,” she said. “Probably do that six days a week.”

While Witherspoon said she will hit up Aniston on wellness advice (“She knows so much about health and fitness!”), no word on whether either actor avoids drinking dairy a la Jill Green.

Also starring Steve Carrell, The Morning Show will premiere on November 1 on the new streaming service Apple TV+.
