We had them pegged as Hollywood’s next big power couple, but Jennifer Lawrence and Darren Aronofsky have split.
E! News reports the actor and director, who became romantically involved about a year ago on the set of their film mother!, split last month.
“It was amicable and they are still friends,” a source said.
In what turned out to be unfortunate timing, earlier this week Lawrence discussed falling in love with Aronofsky during in an interview for The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter podcast, which must have been recorded some time ago but only just published.
“I had a crush on him when he pitched to me, and that was a year before we started rehearsing,” the 27-year-old said.
“But he was a professional, which only made it worse for me.
“We just kind of formed a friendship. He knew how I felt; he never told me how he felt. I mean, I assumed. And then friendship turned into a partnership once we started working. And when the movie was done, I was like, ‘Alright, you’re my boyfriend.'”
They made their first public appearance as a couple in September.
