We brought you news this week that Margot Robbie was in talks to play actress Sharon Tate in the new Quentin Tarantino yet-to-be-announced film. Tate – who starred in Valley Of The Dolls and married Roman Polanski – was fatally stabbed along with four other members of the Manson family cult in 1969. She was eight months pregnant at the time.

The other actress in talks to play Tate is Jennifer Lawrence, but Tate’s sister Debra has recently spoken to TMZ stating she doesn’t think the actress is pretty enough to play her sister and Robbie would, according to her, be indeed a better fit . “Not that I have anything against her, but she’s not pretty enough to play Sharon,” she says. “And that’s a horrible thing to say, but I have my standards.”

“My pick would be Margot simply because of her physical beauty,” she continued. “And the way she even carries herself is similar to that of Sharon. Physical beauty wouldn’t be so important but Sharon’s six years of her public life were all based on that incredibly beautiful, natural, perfect look in both soul, heart and spirit. So that’s what I’m looking to try to capture.”

Debra also said she felt Tarantino should reach out to her as she was concerned with how her sister might be portrayed in the eccentric film’s director’s eyes. No doubt Lawrence will have a down-to-earth response to this in her next interview.

More to come.
