It’s not a point of view that gets expressed all that often: sympathy for the Kardashians. You know, the reality TV family that appear so fame hungry they’re never able to satisfy their appetite for more attention (although admittedly, we’re just as guilty as we watch their every move with a popcorn bowl at the ready).

But Jennifer Lawrence has a lot of empathy for the K klan, revealing in an interview with E! news on Monday that she recently cried actual tears of concern for Kim, Khloe, Kourtney, Kris, Kylie, Kendall and ko.

“I was crying about the Kardashians the other night,” J-Law said. “They’re under a lot of pressure. Even if its elective, it’s pressure — and I get that!”

It’s not a popular idea when it comes to the Kardashians but it’s an interesting one. It’s as if Jennifer has recognised that Kris and Kim (without a shadow of a doubt the masterminds of the empire) have bitten off more than they can chew, and this thing they’ve created is steaming ahead with its own life force. And regardless of whether they want every bit of attention they get or not, shouldn’t we all aim to be more empathetic in general? You know, hate begets hate and all that.

It’s worth pointing out that Jennifer is a Kardahsians super-fan though. The Joy actress has talked a lot about her obsession with KUWTK, even revealing how her friends organised for Kris Jenner to make a surprise appearance at her birthday party a couple of years ago. The momajer walked into the room carrying Jen’s cake.

“It was the closest I’ve ever come to losing consciousness,” she told the New York Times. “I had NO IDEA. I’d never met her before but we’ve always watched Keeping Up With the Kardashians. And then Kris Jenner and I sang ‘Build Me Up Buttercup’ on karaoke and took that picture,” she explained, referring to a photo of Lawrence and Jenner laying on a bed that Kris posted to Instagram.

We’re not about to start a #prayforthekardashians hashtag, but it’s worth making like Jennifer and approaching them with a little more kindness. After all, J-law can do no wrong. The beauty is currently on the publicity trail for X-Men Apocalypse and looking damn good, too.
