Jennifer Lopez is having a good year. Her relationship with Alex Rodriguez seems as solid as ever, she looked impossibly good celebrating her 49th birthday, and she has a new movie about to hit the big screen.

Now, it’s been announced J-Lo will receive the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the 2018 MTV Movie Awards – and to celebrate, she’s performing.

The show on August 20 will be the first time Lopez has taken to the stage at the VMAs since 2001, where she performed I’m Real with Ja Rule.

Seventeen years is definitely long enough to wait for J-Lo’s MTV VMAs stage return. We’ve got a feeling this year’s ceremony is going to be unmissable.

The Video Vanguard is awarded to artists who’ve made a particularly big contribution to the music video industry. Pink, Rihanna, Beyonce, Kanye West, David Bowie, Justin Timberlake and of course, Michael Jackson are among former winners.

The MTV Video Music Awards are being held on August 20 at Radio City Music Hall in New York.
