Are you doing the fashion week rounds? [Grazia caught up with gomes in new york during the AW17 SHOWS] I have literally flown in for Michael Kors show. I am living in Los Angeles and fly back there tonight. I used to live in New York and I’d forgotten how nuts it is, especially during Fashion Week.
What did you think of the show? Michael’s designs are the epitome of class. I loved that he bought back all the old models like Carolyn Murphy, Amber Valletta and Natasha Poly, who was wearing this stunning gold dress. He also had Ashley Graham; it was amazing to see her on the runway and on the cover of Sports Illustrated. I love that he’s celebrating women of different backgrounds, shapes and sizes. I think it’s important for us to do that as a society.
Who else will we find on heavy rotation in your wardrobe? I really love Saint Laurent. As for Australian designers, Christopher Esber, Ellery and Rebecca Vallance are my favourites.
Describe your style in a word Effortless. I live in LA so I live in Frame jeans, a T-shirt and sneakers. I’m currently obsessed with this Ralph Lauren knit and I can never go past a Michael Kors trench coat.
Whose style do you admire? I love what Margot Robbie is doing but then I love her stylist Kate Young. Kate Moss has also always been my style icon. I love her effortless, I don’t care vibe.
You are about to unveil your own skincare brand. What’s your beauty mantra? I’m all about hydration. My range Equal Beauty launches into David Jones this month and all of the products are hyaluronic acid based. Good natural ingredients and knowing where they come from is also important. My products are all made in Australia and have less then 10 ingredients in them. You should also always take off your makeup at the end of the day and apply a hydrating serum or mask.
What’s the secret to that killer bod? Ha! I like yoga and I like to hike, I love to get outdoors. It’s really just important to keep moving and I’m pretty active in my life I am always busy running around somewhere.
Do you get into the whole celebrity scene? Life is actually pretty calm in LA. I have my two movies coming out this year [Gomes stars alongside Owen Wilson in the comedy Bastards and plays Bruce Willis’s love in interest in the comedy, Once Upon a Time in Venice] so that’s pretty nerve wracking.
