In 2015, even those who were staunchly non-fans of Justin Bieber found themselves singing to the acquired beats of Where Are Ü Now, followed by their best impersonation of that “dolphin whistle”. (Fact: That was actually Bieber’s voice distorted by Skrillex multiple times to create that piercing vocal.] Then came What Do You Mean, a track also produced by Jack Ü (Diplo and Skrillex) and of course the 22-year-old followed it up with his hit Sorry.

Today, after teasing a new track with Major Lazer, Bieber and Diplo have dropped Cold Water in all its electronic pop glory. Interestingly Ed Sheeran and Benny Blanco are listed as co-writers and Lean On singer MØ can also be heard on the track. Bieber took to Twitter this week to share some lyrics: “I just want to stay afloat… If you feel you’re sinking, I will jump right over, into cold, cold water for you,” he tweeted. With minimal layers and a similar and yet slower melody to Sorry, will this turn your Switzerland friends into Beliebers? What do you mean? Of course it will.
