In September Justin Bieber will take his Purpose Tour to Asia, where he’ll perform in Japan, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Singapore and Indonesia – but not China.

The Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture has revealed that Bieber is banned from mainland China, responding to a comment from a fan about why Justin was not bringing the Purpose tour to the country.

“Justin Bieber is a gifted singer, but he is also a controversial young foreign singer,” the spokesperson said according to TMZ, citing “bad behaviours”.

The spokesperson also said, however, that Bieber could “improve his conduct as he grows up and … find public favour.”

So it might not be too late now to say Sorry?

The powers that be in China must have been watching when Justin urinated in a mop bucket at a restaurant. Or maybe when he egged his neighbour’s house? Or maybe when he drove drunk? Or maybe when … we’ll just stop there.

Justin isn’t the first celebrity to be banned from China. Lady Gaga was also banned after she publicly met the Dalai Lama.
