A seemingly harmless selfie Justin Timberlake posted on Instagram on Monday could land the pop star in jail for a month.

Justin shared a photo to his more than 37 million followers of himself in a polling booth as he voted ahead of the US presidential election on November 8.

But the Can’t Stop The Feelin’ singer was voting in his home state of Tennessee, where taking photos or recording audio in a polling booth is illegal and punishable by up to 30 days in a prison and/or a $50 fine.

The Shelby County, Tennessee District Attorney’s office told TMZ that the singer’s actions are “under review”.

The fine wouldn’t exactly hurt the 35-year-old, who Forbes listed as the world’s 19th richest celebrity last year, so here’s hoping he doesn’t get hit with the full force of the law. However, the authorities’ attitude might be that Timberlake can cry them a river.
