Katy Perry is laughing all the way to the bank after beating long-time rival Taylor Swift to become the highest paid woman in music for 2018.

Perry earned US$83 million before tax from June 2017-June 2018, according to Forbes. This was largely due to her monster Witness World Tour, which saw her earn more than US$1 million per night.

A reported US$20 million pay packet for her role as a judge on American Idol was also a big factor.

But the Chained To The Rhythm singer shouldn’t be too smug about out-earning her nemesis. Taylor pulled in US$80 million in the same period, just US$3 million less.

Beyonce came in at third place, accumulating US$60 million from her On The Run II tour with Jay-Z and instantly iconic performance at Coachella, among other sources.

The top 10 list was rounded out by Pink (US$52 million), Lady Gaga (US$50 million), Jennifer Lopez (US$47 million), Rihanna (US$37.5 million), Russian-German singer Helene Fischer (US$32 million), Celine Dion (US$31 million) and Britney Spears ($30 million).

Get it, girls.
