When Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom announced they’d ended their relationship this week via a joint statement, the couple made it clear the split was amicable.

“Before rumours or falsifications get out of hand, we can confirm that Orlando and Katy are taking respectful, loving space at this time,” it read.

As tabloids and some on social media refuse to accept the pair would go their separate ways unless something dramatic had occurred, Katy has again insisted that that gossip mongers will find no dirt on the break-up.

“HOW BOUT A NEW WAY OF THINKING FOR 2017” she tweeted on Friday, in all caps just to make sure you’re listening.

“You can still [be] friends & love [your] former partners! No one’s a victim or a villain, get a life y’all!”

Katy and Orlando’s split came as a surprise since the couple did attend the Vanity Fair Oscars After-Party on Monday (as seen in the picture above) and it was only in mid-January that the Chained To The Rhythm singer hosted a surprise birthday for her 40-year-old now ex-boyfriend.

In November 2016, during the UNICEF Snowflake Ball, Perry gushed to E! News about her boyfriend. “He’s just got the most kind heart, ever,” she said.

In a sign that the pair’s split is as amicable as they claim, a day after the announcement Bloom was hanging out with Katy’s dog, Nugget. Maybe the actor is so besotted with the pup Perry’s agreed to joint custody.
