If 2015 was the year of “free the nipple,” then 2016 is about decorating it. Yes, the nipple ring revival is upon us with comrade Kendall Jenner on call. After giving us a glimpse of her new nipple embellishment via her little sister, Kylie’s SnapChat at Coachella, Kendall has freed the nipple ring again, this time with besties Gigi Hadid and Hailey Baldwin by her side.

Clad in a sheer black top on the streets of New York City, Kendall is just the latest in a line of PYT’s making a case for the nipple ring comeback. Last year fellow model, and best friend, Bella Hadid flaunted her own piercing in Paris, and of course Rihanna openly displays her own bejewelled breasts through many a sheer outfit, ready whenever the paparazzi flash is.
Whether it’s to your taste or not, it’s hard to deny the chic that Kendall et all making via their latest breast hardware look. And now that multiple ear piercings have become the almost-yawn, norm, could the nipple ring be the next accessory statement to make the transition from trashy and rebellious, to mainstream or even, dare we say it, vanilla? With everything Kendall, Rihanna and Bella touching turning to sold, it’s likely.
