Whether we like to admit it or not, the Kardashian family have wielded an insane amount of influence on popular culture since breaking onto the scene via their reality show (and another slightly less-authorised made-for-television production)

Their perfectly manicured hands have steered the direction of the way we dress, eat, decorate and even the way we like, literally, talk is so cute right now because of them. One thing the family majorly swayed is the way we buy, and wear make-up – namely the contouring craze, which has blended its way into the zeitgeist since Kim posted a picture on her Instagram revealing the secrets to her killer face structure.

Even in the face of the no make-up, make-up movement, the bronzer boom continued and contouring was seemingly staying strong. Until now. Kim Kardashian, the High Priestess of the contouring revolution has said she is over it. Bible. Brushes down.

“My husband loves me without makeup, but I would wear makeup 24/7 if I could,” said Kardashian at a Vogue festival in London on Saturday. “I think right now it’s more about ‘nontouring’, like real skin with less make-up on it. I’m trying to wear less… and my husband loves me without make-up. Now when I travel I just bring a small make-up case, and I’m content with that. I’m really into strobing now, so just highlighting the skin without using bronzer.”

Speaking on-stage with make-up artist Charlotte Tilbury, the freshly toned-down Kardashian says she still loved contouring one area: “I love contouring, and I love contouring my nose. I know everyone thinks I got a nose job, but I really didn’t, it’s all contour.”

To try the trend yourself drop a little illuminator into your foundation for an all-over glow or hit the high points of your face with a shimmering product. Get set, strobe.
