When you’re Kim Kardashian West, another spin around the sun is always a pretty big deal.
The glamour celebrated her 39th birthday over the weekend and her family ensured it was an affair to remember.
She had dinner with the clan in her Palm Springs mansion, catered by her favourite Armenian restaurant, Carousel.
Kim shared to her Instagram stories pictures of the beignets, churros and other treats provided by the eatery.
Friend and publicist Tracy Romulus posted snaps to her own Instagram stories of Kimmy blowing out the candles on a huge, square cake.
“You are such an amazing person, friend, daughter, sister, mother, wife – more beautiful inside than out – I hope you are feeling all the appreciation today,” wrote Romulus.
Kylie did Kim’s makeup especially for her big day, with Kim hilariously telling Kylie to “look at your powder” when she was getting too distracted by the camera to focus on the job at hand.
There was a life size bust made from brown roses in the shape of Kim’s Body fragrance, other lavish floral arrangements throughout the house, the Kardashians’ combined broods running amok, and presents galore.
Kanye, Kim said, got her “the most amazing bags” but she seemed most chuffed with his other gift.
On Kim’s behalf, Kanye donated US $1 million to some of Kim’s favourite prison reform charities: Cut 50, Buried Alive Project, Equal Justice Initiative and Anti-Recidivism Coalition.
It’s unclear whether the donation was $1 million in total, or $1 million each to the respective charities.
Kim posted a glowing pic to Instagram thanking everyone for their birthday wishes, and especially Kanye. “…he donated $1 million to my favorite charities that work so hard on prison reform on my behalf from him and the kids. This makes my heart so happy!” she wrote.
“Kanye has the most generous heart, it is inspiring 🙏🏼❤️✨”, sister Kourtney commented.
While Kim’s celebrations were extravagant to most of us, by the Kardashians’ standards they were pretty low-key.
We have a sneaking suspicion she’s already planning her 40th bash, and it will be anything but understated.
