In Kim Kardashian West’s own realm of fashion, it’s been a bumpy ride of sartorial opinion of late. From the Thierry Mugler viral, black strappy “backwards” dress from the legend’s spring 98 couture collection to it’s almost immediate replica at fast-fashion brands a mere 24 hours later (we agree Diet Prada, Kardashian must have tipped Fashion Nova off), the reality star has never shied away from a headline. But between the Mugler archival dresses (how beautiful was the fall 99 off-the-shoulder blush pink gown with the golden bodice?), Kardashian has been wearing 90s runways hits made famous by Naomi Campbell, time and time again. And the internet has certainly noticed.

Campbell was of course at the peak of her supermodel career in this decade – and lots of people have honed her Azzedine Alaïa and Versace penchant – but the new crimped mane on the scene – the one attached to a reality star – has now copied five of Campbell’s looks.

The copies include Kardashian wearing a 1998 Versace gown to the opening of The Cher Show on Broadway – the exact dress Campbell wore to an awards show in 2015 and premiered on the runway in the 90s.

Then there was the Azzedine Alaïa leopard-print jumpsuit in Paris last week, another look Campbell wore on the runway in the 90s. Most recently, Kardashian was spotted in the same purple, blue and green vintage Versus Versace as Campbell at Chance The Rapper’s wedding. Please note: Campbell is actually immortalised as a wax figure in this dress.

In the words of Diet Prada, “Hey Fashion Nova…You can just go ahead and copy any 90s Versace Naomi wore instead of secretly collaborating with Kim.” Dead.
