It’s a rare sighting you see Kim Kardashian-West dripping in diamonds these days. After all, the reality-star made a staunch declaration to Ellen DeGeneres that post being robbed at gunpoint in Paris in 2016, she realised what was important in life and that didn’t include jewels.
But when you’re presumably paid a lot of money to attend a Tiffany and Co Blue Book Collection event in New York City, you have to wear the diamond choker and rings they gift you. It’s business. And no one understands the power of an Instagram post-exchange quite like the queen of the medium herself. But Thieves, beware; Kardashian’s security are watching you.
The 37-year-old mother of three took to her Instagram stories on Tuesday night while riding in the backseat of her car on the way to the jewellery giant’s event at Studio 525 in Chelsea. Adorned in diamonds, she had one warning to anyone who dared get too close. “Look at these jewels I get to borrow for the night,” she said. “I have security with me and they (the diamonds) leave me after the night. I turn into Cinderella.”
Kris Jenner, Mary J. Blige, Zoe Kravitz, Josephine Skriver and Priyanka Chopra were also in attendance.
Kardashian was shockingly gagged, tied up and robbed as several masked gunmen broke into her hotel room in Paris two years ago. They took her huge engagement ring that her husband Kanye West gifted her. The star’s security at the time was then amped up to “presidential levels”.
