A Star Is Born continues it’s incredible Awards Season high. Bradley Cooper was in London today collecting a BAFTA for Best Original Music while Lady Gaga attended the Grammys in Los Angeles where the film picked up a gold gramophone for best pop duo/group performance.

“I got to fulfil a dream I never thought would happen,” Cooper told the audience inside the Royal Albert Hall acknowledging the success of their song Shallow. “I share this with Lady Gaga tonight, the music was the heartbeat of this film. I also need to thank [my girlfriend] Irina for putting up with me while I was trying to make music in our basement for a year.”

Celine-clad Gaga – like she has this entire award season – gushed hard about Cooper. “I wish Bradley was here right now,” she said through tears inside the Staples Centre. “I know he wants to be here. Bradley, I loved singing this song with you.” It was at this exact moment where life really did imitate art; A Star Is Born has gone meta. In the film for which Gaga was receiving a Grammy, her character Ally is nominated for three awards at the same ceremony. When Ally wins Best New Artist, her husband – the incredibly famous, talented and yet disheveled Jackson Maine (Cooper) – drunkenly stumbles onto the stage and wets himself. It’s one of the most powerful scenes in the film as Ally really realises the measure of Jackson’s destructive behaviour, his toxicity laid bare to the world as he steals the biggest moment of her life away from her.

Gaga also talked about the way the film deals with mental illness and addiction. “I’m so proud to be a part of a movie that addresses mental health issues and a lot of artists deal with that and we’ve got to take care of each other,” she said. “So if you see somebody that’s hurting, don’t look away,”

The singer also took home Best Pop Solo Performance for her track Joanne. Later on, she took to the stage to perform Shallow.

Gaga and Cooper will close out award season by performing Shallow at The Academy Awards on February 25 AEST.

(One more thing to point out: As Gaga received the news of the film’s BAFTAs win, she posted a picture to her Twitter. “I can’t believe we just won Best Original Music at the BAFTAs,” she said. “I wish so much I was there but am at the Grammy’s to show them our love as well. We made a film about music. This means the world to me.” In the picture, Gaga appears to be waking up on a sofa bed; a lounge with a sheet on it. It just confused us a little in the GRAZIA office. Gaga should be waking up in a four-poster bed every morning! Maybe there’s a little Ally in her yet.)
