Cast your mind back to 2008, and Lady Gaga had a bow of bleached blonde hair, a metal bolt stuck to her cheek and one of the heaviest smokey eye’s we’ve ever seen. Fast forward to today – namely the Elle USA Women in Hollywood celebration – and the pop-star-turned-Oscar-worthy-actress cut a very, very different figure.
At the Awards in LA, there was not a high-cut leotard or steak hat in sight, rather, a slouchy, oversized power suit by Marc Jacobs, a streamlined smokey eye and sleek, low bun. She was the picture of chic, and somehow even made black roots look stylish.
Parted down the middle and pulled back into a tight, low bun, Gaga’s roots surprisingly became the hair focus thanks to some heavy gelling by hairstylist Tom Eerebout. Her smokey eye was streamlined and sublime compared thanks to the handiwork of Sarah Tanno, who also added a subtle sprinkling of silver glitter to the top of her sockets (it is Gaga after all), whilst lips were kept peachy and nude, with a stronger shade of lip liner left visible.
Looking ever the part of mega movie star, it was another stylish step in Lady Gaga’s ongoing fashion and beauty evolution.
Honoured for her tenacity and talent in the industry, this particular beauty look is also one to be celebrated. Black roots made chic thanks to our current beauty favourite, Gaga makes a serious proposition for regrowth. Could the obvious black root be the next balayage?
