Widely speculated to be about her ex-fiancé Taylor Kinney, Lady Gaga will perform her ballad single Million Reasons on Saturday Night Live this weekend. But first, take a listen to her isolated (and incredible) vocals which have been “leaked” online.

Gaga recently told The Howard Stern Show that she wrote the heart-felt track for women all over the world. “I wrote to her, and I wrote to her, and I wrote to her, and then I was like, ‘F**k, that’s me,’” she said. “I’m a woman and I go through the same things that other women go through.”

She also wrote it for men. “Because I thought maybe if the guy could hear from us, how we feel, maybe he would understand a little bit more how deep it goes, how much we really love you, and how much we really need that love in return to be protected,” she said.

Opening up to E! News, Gaga said it was inevitable that some tracks on her new album Joanne will relate to Kinney. “I would just say that my music on my album as well as all my albums is inspired by my personal life and this one more than others,” she said. “I have said it before – I love Taylor so much and he’s my best friend.”

An intense listen to Million Reasons and it’s truly heartbreaking as it tells of a woman desperately searching for just one sign that she should stay in the relationship. And this stripped back rendition makes you feel this sentiment even harder.
