While the Victoria Secret angels struggled to take their dancing boots off (we’re looking at you Romee Stridj) and Selena Gomez and The Weeknd packed on the PDA to the tune of a record-breaking 6.6 million Instagram likes, Lana Del Rey’s post-coachella activities included writing new music.

Hours after geeking out over Father John Misty, the musician stopped by a forest on the side of a highway and wrote and previewed a new track for fans – using her old film filter of course. And, it appeared her inner-monologues during such stunning Coachella sets were filled with anguish not over flower crowns but over the merciless military threats between North Korea and the United States. “I’m not gonna lie, I had complex feelings about spending the weekend dancing whilst watching tension with North Korea mount,” the 31-year-old posted. “I find It’s a tightrope between being vigilantly observant of everything going on in the world and also having enough space and time to appreciate God’s good earth the way it was intended to be appreciated.”

“On my way home I found myself compelled to visit an old favourite place of mine at the rim of the world highway where I took a moment to sit down by the sequoia grove and write a little song,” she continued. “I just wanted to share this in hopes that one individual’s hope and prayer for peace might contribute to the possibility of it in the long run. Hope everyone has a nice day, with love from California.” Watch below and when you can get past the idea that no, you’re not going to see Bella or Edward Cullen fly across the treetops, let us know what you think of the track.

The singer announced her new album Lust For Life just six days ago. Get excited.
