Looks like Jemima Kirke isn’t the only Girls cast member kicking off the final season with a hair change  – Lena Dunham has debuted a new ‘do too. Attending press days for the sixth, and last season of Girls, Dunham’s former light brown, shoulder-grazing bob had transformed into a long, layered ombré look.

Pairing sunny blonde lengths against soft waves, Dunham’s new tresses was kept from veering into hippie-bohemian territory via her signature short, Brooklyn-hipster fringe.

The question whether Dunham’s sudden lighter lengths were here to stay, or simply a one-night strand affair was kindly revealed by her hairstylist, Rheanne White. “It’s human hair that I glued in,” Rheanne told Allure. “The hair I glued in was already coloured. I sometimes prefer gluing since it lays closer to scalp plus I didn’t have a lot of time to create Lena’s look.” While hair colour trends have been moving away from ombré and two-tones looks of late, might Dunham’s recent rendition inspire stylists to resuscitate the blanched tip trend? If in doubt, opt for clip-ins for a long today, gone-Girls tomorrow option.
