Since their split was announced in August, Miley Cyrus has been moving on from Liam Hemsworth in very public fashion, first with Kaitlynn Carter, and now with Australian singer/songwriter/poet/swimmer/surfer Cody Simpson.
Liam, conversely, has been keeping a low profile back in Byron Bay — up until now. On Thursday night he was snapped canoodling with 22-year-old Australian actress Maddison Brown in New York, giving Miley’s own PDAs a run for their money.
The pair were spotted enjoying a few drinks at The Flower Shop in Manhattan’s Lower East Side before snuggling and kissing out the front. Liam cut a dashing figure in a dark zip jacket, jeans and boots, while Maddison was dressed to match in a black scoop neck long sleeved top, slacks and heels.
Maddison is a model and actress who recently joined the cast of Dynasty on the CW network in the US. She plays Kirby Anders, the butler’s daughter, in the reboot of the legendary ‘80s series starring Joan Collins.
Maddison moved from Australia to New York at 16 to model and quickly picked up jobs for the likes of House of Holland, Miu Miu and Vogue.
On Thursday night, the pair looked quite cheery after their drinking session, with Liam picking up a witch’s hat in the street and slinging it over his shoulder while Maddison laughed and playfully swatted his arm.
Later, they headed to the Alley Cat amateur theatre near Tribeca. Earlier in the day they were seen wandering around the West Village arm in arm, then enjoying lunch at West Village restaurant Sant Ambroeus.
Maddison’s apparently been harbouring a crush on Liam for a while. Appearing on the Zach Sang radio show, she participated in a game of F__k, marry, kill and was asked to choose between Liam and his older brother Chris.
“Are they a package deal?” she asked cheekily.
Unlike Miley and Cody these two are yet to make things Insta-official but we’re hoping this is the start of a beautiful love story.
