When Michael Kors describes his latest scent, Wonderlust, you can see why he picked his free-spirited friend and model muse, Lily Aldridge to front the campaign. “Wonderlust is an infinite desire for adventure, romance, and discovery,” says Kors of his new bright, floral scent. “It’s for the woman with the curiosity and passion to trust in herself and follow her heart.” Creative, carefree, elegant and eternally cool – the supermodel is never in one place for very long, embodying that Wonderlust vibe perfectly. Here, we chat to Aldridge about fragrance, travel and how she keeps chic on-the-go.

What is your first scent memory?
I grew up in California so my first scent memory is the smell of the ocean mist. No matter where I go, that smell makes me feel at home.
What do you love about Wonderlust?
I love that it’s a very sophisticated floral scent. Which makes it versatile, it carries me from day to night. To me, Wonderlust is all about living life with a sense of adventure! Paving your own path with confidence and allure. Fragrance makes me feel sexy. I wear fragrance everyday! It’s such an important step in my everyday beauty routine. It completes any look and feels very luxurious. I tend to wear it on my wrists, but I sometimes spritz it in my hair for an extra statement.

What has been the most memorable part of working on the campaign?
Shooting the campaign with Mario. We were on a gorgeous yacht off of a beautiful island. It was so glamorous! It’s something I’ll always remember.
Why did you choose to be the face of Wonderlust?
I’m so honoured to be the face of Wonderlust. I love being a Michael Kors woman! This campaign is all about adventure, glamour, and luxury – which is so inspiring. What more could you ask for!
You and Michael are known for your great chemistry. What was the set of the Wonderlust campaign like?
We had so much fun! Between Michael and Mario, we were just laughing the whole time. I love them both very much and couldn’t ask for a better team to get to experience this with.

If you could go on a dream vacation, where would it be?
I’ve always wanted to travel to Japan to explore a new part of the world.
Where would you send Michael on a dream holiday?
I would send Michael to Greece on a yacht. It’s the perfect trip for him! Luxurious and exotic.
Where do you think he would send you and why?
I hope Michael would send me to Capri. He knows how much I love the Italian coast!

Do you have any tips for staying refreshed when you travel?
A great face mask, perfume, and drinking a lot of water are my essentials to staying hydrated and refreshed when I travel! I’m an over packer. I pack for all possibilities, so I can be ready for anything! Adventure, glamour…wherever the trip takes me.
What are your travel essentials?
Perfume always makes me feel put together after a long day of traveling. And I need my phone charger! I always seem to forget to download my favorite playlist before getting on the plane.
How do you maintain your look when on-the-go?
I keep it simple! I usually have my hair up in a ballet bun and a great pair of sunglasses for when I’m on the go. Ballet beautiful is amazing because we can train anywhere in the world over Skype. So it’s very travel friendly, which is a must for me! On vacation, I feel like all you need is a sexy dress and great perfume paired with a gorgeous red lip. When I’m traveling I love getting massages to relax. It’s such a great way to treat yourself.

Wings, water, or wheels – what’s your favourite form of transpiration?
There is nothing more luxurious to me than being on a yacht. You feel alive and ready for adventure!
What is your everyday beauty routine?
Keeping my skin healthy! I drink a lot of water and always make sure to clean my skin every night before bed. Everything starts with your skin so, that’s really important.

And your fitness routine?
I love working out and feeling strong! Ballet beautiful is great for me. I travel so much but I can do my work out over Skype anywhere in the world.
What do you think makes a woman beautiful?
Confidence! That’s the most genuine and pure form of beauty. It’s so important for women to see their own beauty. It’s why I’m drawn to Wonderlust.

What do you think the Wonderlust beauty look is?
To me Wonderlust beauty is gorgeous wind swept hair and sun kissed skin.
How important is it to live a Wonderlust-inspired life?
My world revolves around traveling the world at a moments notice! I love that about my job. You never know where tomorrow will take you!
