lindsaymeangirlsgraziaWhen she’s not speaking in a new accent or demanding huge sums of cash to do an interview on Russian TV, Lindsay Lohan is trying to make Mean Girls 2 happen.

You know, like ‘fetch’.

The actress, who starred as Cady Heron in the 2004 cult comedy alongside Rachel McAdams, Lacey Chabert, Lizzy Caplan, Tina Fey (who also wrote the script) and Amy Poehler, revealed this week that she’s written a ‘treatment’ (that’s film speak for what comes before a script) for a sequel to the film.

“I have been trying so hard to do a Mean Girls 2. It is not in my hands,” she told CNN. “I know Tina Fey and Lorne Michaels and all of Paramount are very busy.

“But I will keep forcing it and pushing it on them until we do it.”

LiLo also named some stars she’d like to add to the original cast.

“I would love to have Jamie Lee Curtis and Jimmy Fallon in the movie,” she revealed. “I’ve already written a treatment for it, so I just need a response.”

The film still enjoys significant popularity in pop culture and television re-runs more than a decade after it premiered, so the comments will no doubt put pressure on Fey et al to consider making Mean Girls 2.

Of course there was technically a Mean Girls 2 in 2011, although it was made without any of the original cast or Fey’s input, and the project was a flop.

Fey recently revealed she’s working on Mean Girls: The Musical, which will debut in Washington D.C at a still to be announced date. If the stage adaption is enough of a hit, could it convince Tina and Paramount Pictures to do a real Mean Girls sequel?

For Lindsay’s and all of our sake, we hope so.
