One of the most eagerly awaited fragrance launches of the year now has a face. After a 70-year break from fragrances, French house Louis Vuitton are re-entering the scent space and have just announces French actress, Lea Seudoux as its face. Chairman and Chief Executive of Louis Vuitton, Michael Burke told the New York Times that fragrance was the “last major frontier” for the brand, stating that “fragrance [is] a fundamental aspect of dressing, and telling the world who you are every day.”

The milestone collection is set to feature seven scents, all of which hero floral notes, from rose (Roses des Vents), tuberose and jasmine (Turbulences), and Mille Feux (Chinese osmanthus, and leather accord). With legendary Jacques Cavallier Belletrud as the nose (the man behind Stella, Stella McCartney, L’Eau d’Issey by Issey Miyake, plus Noir de Noir and Tuscan Leather from Tom Ford’s Private Blend line, to name but a few)

With the last Louis Vuitton fragrance launching 1946, Burke said it was important for the house to return to the market with a collection worth the several-decades wait. “Over the last 20 years, we have extended our reach everywhere from shoes to accessories to jewellery and beyond. . . It is of no real surprise we decided to go into this in a big way,” he said.LV PARFUMS_67

Meanwhile Seudoux, whose latest film credits include SpectreThe Lobster, and Blue is the Warmest Colour, is set to lend her French fashion favourite charms to the campaign. Already a friend of the house, Seudoux recently starred in their, ‘Spirit of Travel’ campaign earlier this year, which was captured by Patrick Demarchelier and saw Seudoux at a pastel dream ranch in Mexico’s Luis Barragan.

Les Parfums Louis Vuitton is set to launch in September this year.
