Visitors to Sydney’s Bondi Beach over the next two weeks can make like Travis Scott and David Beckham, and get their mitts on pieces from the much-hyped Louis Vuitton x Supreme collection.

A pop-up of the French brand’s Autumn/Winter 2017 menswear collection starts tomorrow, Friday June 30, in the designer surf suburb that’s the heartland for guys who’d spend big cash on a mash-up between cult New York skate label and a luxury brand.

From the moment Louis Vuitton men’s artistic director Kim Jones sent the fire engine red pieces down his Louis AW17 runway back in January, they sent shockwaves through the industry, with some commentators calling it the most important fashion capsule collaboration in recent history. What was seemingly an odd match at face value actually proved the importance of street culture to the luxury arena and customers, bringing with it a whole new level of cool cred.

So did the brand’s choice of official first owner. Texan rapper and Kylie Jenner beau, Travis Scott, sat FROW at the LV show decked out in the pieces before they hit the runway. Before the sun set that day, he possessed every piece from the collaboration.

Less than a week later, David Beckham stepped out with Victoria in Paris wearing a red LV x Supreme scarf that wasn’t yet available to other mortals. In the five months that’s followed a spattering of fashion A-listers, celebs and singers have popped up wearing red Supreme-splashed pieces – even Kendall Jenner (perhaps nabbed from her sister’s BF’s closet?) and friend Cara Delevigne.

The Louis Vuitton pop-up runs from June 30 to July 13 (Monday to Sunday, 10am to 6pm, and 7pm on Thursdays) at 95 Roscoe Street, Bondi Beach, and will offer a variety of pieces from the AW17 menswear collection including ready-to-wear, leather goods, shoes and accessories. There will also be exclusive items available only at this Sydney one-off.
