When it was announced that Margot Robbie was to be making her debut appearance as Chanel’s latest ambassador at the 90th Academy Awards in a head-to-toe look by the fashion house, they really meant head-to-toe.

Makeup artist Pati Dubroff was clearly inspired by Robbie’s stunning Chanel Haute Couture gown – designed by Karl Lagerfeld himself – which took 550 hours to put together. The icicle-like crystal embellishments that hung around the bodice and draped over her arms looked striking and beautifully organic against her snow-white dress. With this in mind, Dubroff laid the foundation for her vision: to achieve the ultimate ice queen look that aligned with Robbie’s new partnership with the French fashion house. A look which can be mimicked at home (minus the Oscar nomination).

To begin, prep and prime. Robbie’s skin was prepped and hydrated with the La Solution 10 de Chanel Sensitive Skin Cream and the Hydra Beauty Nutrition Nourishing Lip Care to give a soft, smooth base. Next, it was a case of cover your bases (or blemishes). Make like Margot and select your shade from Chanel’s range of Vitaluminère Moisture-Rich Radiance Sunscreen Fluid Makeup to keep skin perfect and protected. Her hue? 20 Clair. Then colour yourself happy with the Joues Contraste Powder Blush in Rose Ecrin and the Poudre Lumière Highlighting Power in Ivory Gold. A touch of rosiness on the cheeks gave off an out-in-the-cold-too-long appearance.

Leaving Robbie’s brows in their natural Robbie-esque state, Dubroff made the eyes the focus. The Ombre Première Longwear Powder Eyeshadow in Scintillance combined with the Ombre Première Longwear Cream Eyeshadow in Flesh keeps things cool and clean. And the Chanel cherry on top? Ombre Première Longwear Cream Eyeshadow in Titane, which takes the Oscar for Best Supporting Shine; beautifully metallic and melt-worthy. Finish with a few strokes of Chanel’s signature Le Volume De Chanel Mascara in Noir.

Keeping Robbie’s pout on point with the ‘no-lip lip’ trend, Dubroff opted for the Rouge Coco Ultra Hydrating Lip Colour in Cecile, followed by a swipe of Rouge Coco Lip Blush in Tender Rose on top. Pink enough to notice, subtle enough to look effortless. Finish with a final spritz of the Sublimage La Brume Intense Revitalising Mist and you’re ready to rule the world, queen.
