It’s coming. The makeup collaboration of our drugstore dreams, the Gigi Hadid x Maybelline collection is officially in the works.

Whilst it has only been teased out on Hadid and Maybelline’s Instagram accounts, the collaboration, “a year in the making” according to Gigi, has already sparked beauty frenzy the world over. And it should come as no surprise. Hadid has been the face of Maybelline since 2015; her baby blues and pillowy pout have showed every lip shade, shadow, kajal and highlighter under the Maybelline rainbow (and beautifully so). Every memorable makeup moment has been created by makeup artist Patrick Ta, always with Maybelline products. Quite simply, she is Maybelline’s modern-day muse.

And whilst we don’t know the exact inner workings of the collection just yet, there have been tasty teasers. There’s a blush and bronzer (staples in the Gigi beauty calvary), etched with the #gigixmaybelline motif; a cursive, fluid GH. That insignia is Hadid’s beauty shield for the entire collection, as too that blush, salmon varietal which remains to permeate all popular culture. There also appears to be a palette, and whilst we can’t quite decipher just yet, our beauty bets are on a contour and highlight combo to rival fellow beauty entrepreneur Kimmy K (although probably a more pared-back version than Kimmy’s, Gigi favours a slightly more subtle contour).

Collaborations, particularly of the beauty ilk, are the way du jour for brands seeking a little freshen up. And nothing like a slap of Hadid hysteria to get the beauty fire burning again.
