If anything is going to make you dream of the European summer (even more than Instagram’s current deluge), it’s Zimmermann’s stylish, two-day soirée in Capri over the weekend.

To celebrate the opening of the Australian designer’s third free-standing store in Europe (and its first retail store in Italy), the brand said cin, cin with an elaborate, Italianate affair which spanned two glorious, sun-drenched days, reaffirming any kind of inkling we had to pack our things and promptly decamp to Europe for the summer. Beginning with a sunset dinner at Il Riccio (home to arguably the world’s finest lobster spaghetti), celebrities gathered underneath a pink canopy of Caprese stars for an intimate dinner by the sea.

The following day, an alfresco lunch at Villa Bismarck – a sublime private property overlooking the Bay of Naples – served up course after course of la dolce vita. Under a sprawling lemon orchard; Katie Holmes, Laura Dern, Karolina Kurkova, Phoebe Tonkin, Sam and Lara Worthington, Joel Edgerton, Bella Heathcote, Jessica Hart, Gemma Ward, Cindy Bruna, Arizona Muse and Maria Borges joined designers Nicky and Simone Zimmermann with a dreamlike, citrus-themed lunch and day party, so plentiful and full of lemons you could make the region’s entire batch of Limoncello off this one table setting.

With resort wear intrinsic to the glamorous island – and with the seemingly endless spend of the folk who visit it – we couldn’t think of a better place for Zimmermann to set up shop. Except maybe Paris, which just so happens to be the next stylish port of call for the design duo, who are opening in the French capital later this year. But for now, as the European summer roars ahead at full steam, number 30 Via Vittorio Emanuele – with its soft pint façade and unyielding light – is just the spot to stretch your sartorial legs and assert your global retail domination.

Now, close your eyes and picture yourself in the Allia Pintuck Dress, a pair of Joliette Sunglasses, glass of prosecco in hand and say, sault Zimmermann! Yours truly is the sweetest life.
