Meghan Markle has broken her silence after her dad sensationally pulled out of the royal wedding, changed his mind, but was then forced to cancel to have surgery.

“Sadly, my father will not be attending our wedding,” she said in a statement released by Kensington Palace.

“I have always cared for my father and hope he can be given the space he needs to focus on his health,” it continued.

“I would like to thank everyone who has offered generous messages of support. Please know how much Harry and I look forward to sharing our special day with you on Saturday.”

Meghan and Prince Harry were also seen heading to Windsor Castle for a rehearsal ahead of the ceremony, which is less than 48 hours away.

The soon-to-be newlyweds looked happy and relaxed in the back of an SUV.

Her father might be absent, but Meghan’s mum, Doria, is in town.

E! News reports Doria joined Meghan, Harry, Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles for afternoon tea at Clarence House in London on Wednesday.

With the countdown well and truly on, the world is waiting to catch a glimpse of Meghan as a bride – not to mention who will walk her down the aisle.
