Meghan Markle has ticked off another milestone since officially joining the royal family last month.

The Duchess of Sussex attended her first event alone with the Queen, the two arriving in Cheshire, England for a walkabout before heading nearby to watch the opening of the Mersey Gateway Bridge.

Meghan acknowledged the importance of the day by wearing a pair of pearl and diamond earrings that were a gift from her grandmother-in-law.

Unlike a recent appearance where Meghan chose to bare her shoulders, this time she was covered up in an eggshell Givenchy number.

Meghan made mention of her new husband as she greeted members of the public who had gathered to catch a glimpse of her and the Queen.

When asked about Harry, she said he was “the best husband ever” and said married life was “wonderful”, according to E! News.

Ah, newlyweds.
