Meghan Markle brought the #MeToo and Time’s Up movements into the conversation as she attended her first annual Royal Foundation Forum.

Markle looked positively royal beside fiancé Harry and soon to be in-laws Prince William and Kate Middleton, who’s expecting her third child in April.

Former actress Meghan didn’t shy away from the female empowerment movement dominating conversation in Hollywood and elsewhere right now, talking about how women should “use their voices” rather than “find” them, and applauded women for speaking out against sexual harassment.

“I hear a lot of people speaking about girls’ empowerment and women’s’ empowerment, you will hear people saying they are helping women find their voices,” she said.

“I fundamentally disagree with that because women don’t need to find their voices, they need to be empowered to use it and people need to be urged to listen.

“Right now with so many campaigns like #MeToo and #TimesUp there’s no better time to continue to shine a light on women feeling empowered and people supporting them.”

And Harry was fully supportive.

“I am personally incredibly proud and excited that my soon-to-be wife, who is equally passionate about seeing positive change in the world, will soon be joining us with this work.”

Meghan said she could not discuss in detail what charity work and causes the couple plan to focus on once they are married, but said “I certainly know how passionate I am and Harry and I see the world so similarly in our approach of being very hands on with things.”

The bond between Meghan and Kate was obvious throughout the conference, the pair often mirroring each others’ body language and smiling at each other.

Meghan also touched on the two couples’ relationship with each other, saying the synergy was “togetherness at its finest”.

Harry agreed, explaining:

“We have different opinions and they work really well [together]. Working as family does have its challenges; of course it does,” which elicited laughter from the crowd.

“[I think] the fact that everybody is laughing shows they know exactly what’s it like. “But we are stuck together for the rest of our lives.”

Harry and Meghan will tie the knot at Windsor Castle on May 19.
