His last interview on Good Morning Britain was heartbreaking; a father emotional and saddened by not being able to walk his daughter down the aisle as she became the newest member of the Royal Family. For the minutes the interview lasted, we felt for the man.

But now in a new interview with TMZ, it appears that image has been dashed. The 73-year-old has said he’s been blacklisted – or put into a “penalty box”– by the Royals since his paid tell-all interview with the British morning show. Mr Markle says he hasn’t received any face-time with the head of the monarchy despite his daughter’s new position as Duchess Of Sussex, nor has he heard from his daughter or any other member of the Royal family since his interview. “If the Queen is willing to meet our arrogant and insensitive President she has no excuse not to meet me, I’m nowhere near as bad,” he said, referring to the Queen’s scheduled visit with Donald Trump next month.

Mr Markle went on to say he is planning to make a trip to the UK to visit his daughter and new son-in-law, whom he has only spoken to on the phone. Mr Markle pulled out of the Royal Wedding at the eleventh hour due to heart complications which prohibited him from flying.

Recounting how he watched the wedding from a little AirBnB in Mexico, Mr Markle spoke of how proud he was of his daughter and of the immense regret he had at not being able to be present. “The unfortunate thing for me now is I’m that a footnote in one of the greatest moments in history rather than the dad walking her down the aisle.” Watch the interview here.
