Widespread outrage and backlash ensued when U.S. politician (and evident anti-Semite) Paul Nehlan superimposed Cheddar Man’s face (the dark-skinned man believed to be the first modern Briton) over an image of Meghan Markle on his Twitter. The caption read: “Honey does this tie make my face look pale?” Markle is of course a biracial American who is set to marry into the English Royal family in May.

Twitter responded by banning Nehlan all together from Twitter, this latest incident several in many anti-Semetic tweets in recent times. But it was her Suits co-star, Patrick J Adams (who ironically played quick-lipped fraud-come-lawyer alongside Markle’s Rachel Zane) who jumped to the actress’ defence. James directly called out Nehlan.

“Oh @pnehlen – you’re a sad and sick man with no sense of shame or class,” he posted on Twitter. “Get a life. And don’t go anywhere near MM – she’s got more power, strength, honor and compassion in her fingernail than you’ll ever know in this lifetime. Way above your weight class.”

Nehlan reportedly said the tweet was a joke. “While we normally do not comment on individual accounts, I can confirm that we have permanently suspended this account for repeated violations of our terms of service,” a spokesperson for Twitter said.
