Yesterday the news broke that Mindy Kaling is expecting her first child, with several outlets reporting The Mindy Project actress has been sharing the news with friends.
The 38-year-old is thought to be single at the moment, prompting questions about who the father of Mindy’s baby is.
But apparently Kaling won’t be discussing the details of her pregnancy anytime soon.
“She is not telling anyone, not even close friends, who the father is,” a source told People, adding it was “an unexpected surprise”.
In 2015 Kaling told America’s Yahoo Style “I think I’ve decided that unlike everything else in my life, I’m going to be fast and loose about kids.
“I’m going to not actively plan, but if it happens, it would happen.
“I’m not cavalier about who I would have a kid with. But the thing I ask every parent that I really admire, the one comment they all have is that they wish they had kids earlier.”
Kaling, who rose to fame on the US version of The Office is next to star in Ocean’s Eight and the big screen adaption of Madeleine L’Engle’s novel A Wrinkle in Time. Kaling is the third highest-paid female television actor, bringing in USD $15 million last year, according to Forbes.
