It was only a few days ago I was watching a television package for new film The Bleeder which stars Naomi Watts and Liev Schreiber. In it, the latter was speaking glowingly about getting to work with his partner of 11 years, Watts. Today though, the couple have announced they will be separating. “Over the past few months we’ve come to the conclusion that the best way forward for us as a family is to separate as a couple. It is with great love, respect, and friendship in our hearts that we look forward to raising our children together and exploring this new phase of our relationship,” the couple told ET in a joint statement. “While we appreciate your curiosity and support, we ask the press to be mindful of our children and respect their right to privacy.”

The pair were never married but have been together since 2005 and have tow children together, Alexander, 9, and Samuel, 7. According to Instagram, this break-up was not expected, Watts posting this just one week ago. “Dapper duo here”.

Shreiber posted this just three weeks ago, captioned “Ay dios mio…”

Like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, lets add this to the list of celebrity relationships we invested in that have (shockingly and abruptly) ended.
