“These last two months have have tested and tried all of us in ways none of us could have foreseen. The one thing we have learned throughout this process is that this production is bigger than just one person and we could not be more proud to be associated with one of the most loyal and talented production cast and crews in this business.”

And so were the words from House Of Card’s producers to it’s cast and crew. Employees will be given two additional weeks of paid leave while head management continue to work with Netflix to re-write and essentially replace Kevin Spacey’s character on the show. The drastic move of course comes in the wake of claims the actor sexually assaulted multiple young boys and men throughout his career. As we move into the holidays, we want to express our appreciation for all of the meaningful messages of support we have received from you and want to update all of our loyal cast and crew on our progress and where things currently stand,” it continued.“We continue to work with Netflix with the hope of resuming production soon.  As we continue these discussions, we have determined together that the crew will be paid for an additional two week hiatus – beginning on November 27th and continuing through December 8th.”

Spacey was suspended by the streaming giant on November 3. His film Gore was also cut by Netflix while All The Money In The World director Ridley Scott made the history-making, drastic decision to re-film all of Spacey’s scenes with Christopher Plummer just week’s from its December release. It’s true: Spacey will never work in this town again.
