Netflix are putting us on the nice list this year. The highly-anticipated second series of You will release on the streaming platform on December 26.

Based on the psychological thriller by Caroline Kepnes, You season one told the story of Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley), a charming bookshop clerk, a lover of literature and a stalker of women in New York City. Upon meeting aspiring writer Beck (Elizabeth Lail), an unhinged Joe becomes obsessed with his new girlfriend to the point where he believes his motives are purely altruistic – that great love means being able to kill anybody who might threaten the relationship, including Beck.

Season two sees Joe move to Los Angeles following his sinister acts in New York. Here, he meets aspiring chef Love Quinn, played by The Haunting Of Hill House Victoria Pedretti. “I’m really excited for people to get to know Love,” Badgley told ET. “There’s a side to Joe that we haven’t seen yet because her character, in some ways, is the polar opposite of Beck. It’s very different between Joe and Love than it was with Beck, and thank God, because you can’t do that again. That would just be brutal. To me, that would be irresponsible if we did the same thing again.”

Speaking to the series’ showrunner Sera Gamble earlier this year, we were given a hint into Joe’s actions in season two by asking Gamble what her Google search history contained. “It would definitely be used against me in a court of law,” Gamble laughed. “Without giving too much away about season two, my Google history is now more about Los Angeles, because Joe comes to LA in season two but it still makes me look like someone who wants to dispose of a lot of bodies. I’ve learnt more than I ever imagined I would about all the many ways you can get rid of bodies and body parts from working on the show. It’s simultaneously repulsing and fascinating.”

You heard it here first. There will be love and quite possibly another murder.
