When it comes to shine, our face has had most of the fun as of late. It’s been all about the highlight, the strobe, the glaze, the glassy finish, with facial highlighting commanding most of the spotlight. But as all things 90s capture the Zeitgeist once more, shine moves from facial contours to lips, as glossy texture makes its comeback. An as obsession with muted, matte lips wanes, we’re now desperately seeking the high-shine colour and lip-lovin’ formulas of glosses, glasses and lipstick – because, 90s!

Leading the charge is Dior, debuting a host of shine-inducing lip products this year, from Dior Addict’s Lip Glow To The Max to Lip Maximizer, their gleam factor is second to none. This week, sees the launch of yet another star in their lip constellation, Dior Addict Stellar Shine, a shiny take on their iconic Dior Addict Lipstick franchise.

It’s alway a big task to take a cult product and reinvent it with the same level of greatness, but Dior and Peter Philips, Creative and Image Director of Dior Makeup, are the ones to do it. The metamorphosis of an icon; Dior Addict Stellar Shine is a balm-like luminous lipstick with incredible colour payoff. Basically it feels like a balm, looks like a gloss, but is a lipstick; a kind of miracle hybrid that does it all. Loaded with light-reflecting micro-pearls, both shine and colour last for up to 8-hours, while lips stay hydrated for up to 24-hours – a big deal in lip land. Infused with aloe vera, oils and waxes, the beeswax formula is light-as-feather and full of  ultra-sensorial oils (five, in fact), which keep lips super supple and juicy. Like a soft halo of colour, lips feel nourished not sticky, and taste like soft vanilla (should you wish you to sample what’s on offer).

When it comes to shades, you’ll be tickled pink. Literally. Playing on Christian Dior’s favourite colour, Philips has created four core pink shades which anchor the collection: a fashionable fuchsia pink, Be Dior, a bold pink, Lucky, an irresistible coral pink, Diorcharm, and a mystic purplish pink, Diorcelestial. These four it-shades comprise a palette of 24 luminous hues, including 16 ‘Glazed’ shades, 4 ‘Sparkle’ shades and 4 ‘Mirror’ shades all of which share a common goal: to make you shine. From flirty nudes to fiery reds, there’s shade for your every mood, every mood, every attitude.

A powerful statement unto itself, in the brave, bold words of Peter Philips: Be Dior. Be Pink. Express yourself freely and be creative. You were born to shine.
