Fashion week is a mix of the most glamorous highs (Parties! Champagne! Outfits!), and the most unglamorous lows (working on your laptop at midnight with a box of takeaway pizza, changing in the back of a cab – you get the picture).

Makeup artist Tobi Henney is one who knows the dichotomy all too well – yesterday alone she made up three clients before lunch, cutting laps around a congested New York City with a suitcase full of makeup and a schedule to match.

Bambi Northwood-Blythe was one of the three faces Henney painted ahead of the Zimmermann show, and the final product was pretty special. Northwood-Blythe’s French-inspired red lip was poppy against her white Zimmermann outfit, but more importantly stood up against hours of street style, shows, and meetings in between. For the full product breakdown, see below.

Henney prepped Northwood-Blythe’s skin with Augustinus Bader’s The Cream and Ole Hendrickson’s Banana Bright Eye Cream before building out a base of Giorgio Armani’s Luminous Silk Primer and matching foundation. To carve out cheek bones, Tom Ford’s Shade and Illuminate was layered with Nars Laguna Bronzer. The complexion was finished with Mac Cosmetics Soft & Gentle Highlight before Henney moved on to eyes and lips.

For subtle definition, she used Mac Cosmetics Groundwork Paint Pot and the same Nars Laguna Bronzer in the crease, before curling lashes with Surratt eyelash curler and applying layers of Hourglass Extreme Caution Mascara. The lips were obviously the focus, so after prepping with a treatment, Henney used Nars Ravishing Red Lipstick all over. Northwood-Blyth’s brows need little help, so after setting with Nars Clear Brow Gel, they were done.

To finish, Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer and Laura Mercier Brightening Powder were used to illuminate under the eyes, before the entire t-zone was set with Laura Mercier’s Translucent Powder. Phew, but the look is worth it, right?
