Never have sneakers been more on trend. But if we had to pinpoint the pioneer, all roads would led to the Nike Air Max.

There are sneakers you see, and there are style icons and only the later deserves a day devoted to it. Add March 26 to the calendar people, that’s when we’ll celebrate Air Max Day in honour of the shoe that literally pushed innovation to new heights.

The first Air Max, released March 26, 1987 was the only shoe to feature groundbreaking visible air cushioning that could be felt and seen by athletes.  Remember the time when wearing trainers was something you only did when working out or at the gym?

Not that the party ends there. Throughout the Max Month of March expect lots of exciting in store surprises, as well as the announcement of a currently top secret ambassador.

“Sneakers are not something that I wear personally, but they are so much more versatile than ever before, and some of the best sellers from my collection,”she says. “The look began through street style when women paired them with the chicest of looks and it’s become a phenomenon.

“Gigi and Kendall always turn it out. The look epitomises the fashion girl running around the streets of New York. I love the look of sneakers with a pair of leather leggings and an oversized jacket. It’s cool, casual and not too serious. Or sneakers paired with slouchy pants or boyfriend jeans.”
