It might just have been the most hyped snow-gear launch in history, but now you can finally shop the hotly-awaited PE Nation x DC Shoes snow capsule collection teased on social media all Australian winter.

The retro-vibe range of ski and boarding gear created by Pip Edwards and Claire Tregoning in collaboration with the mammoth Californian skate and streetwear label DC Shoes, dropped today (Monday, October 29) on P.E Nation’s online store and Netaporter.

As anyone familiar with Edwards’ Instagram feed will know, the seven-piece limited edition capsule – which the designer and fit-fashion influencer wore on multiple ski trips to Aussie snow hotspot Thredbo and New Zealand’s Queenstown over recent months – sticks to black, cream and signature orange colour palette.

Nostalgic and sports luxe, with a quirky twist (those brilliant orange bib overalls need to be worn with a healthy dose of humour) the line’s designed for performance with a high-fashion twist and easily pairs with other pieces from the P.E Nation main line like hoodies and sports bras.

Mother-of-one Edwards – a fanatical skier who calls the sport her favourite – hosted a group of influencers including Yan Yan Chan, Nathan Jolliffe, Ally May Carey, Will Tressidor, Romy Freedman, plus yours truly, on a trip to Wanaka and Queenstown in New Zealand in August to get up-close and personal with the capsule. The bright orange pieces made for appropriately lit on-snow Instagram stories.

It also works – no doubt by careful design – both colour and vibe-wise with the brand’s recent collection of super-thin merino wool pieces made in partnership with Woolmark. Tregoning and Edwards flew to New York to shoot supermodel Jess Hart in the 8-piece capsule earlier this year, then returned to launch it with a VIP dinner during New York Fashion Week. They’re not cheap – prices start at $240 for the sports bra to $452 for the black and white double-knit roll-neck on Net-a-Porter – but the fabric and quality mean they’ll last you eons.

What P.E Nation brings in cool tomboy design flair to the snow-gear line, DC Shoes backs up with high-tech fabrications, expert insulation and breathable waterproofing for an elite on-mountain game. The range also includes a pair of winterized high-top boots with Sherpa lining for $180.

“P.E Nation is a captivating brand,” DC Shoes’ global general manager Mike Jensen has said. “[Pip and Claire] have an intoxicating energy and charisma we knew would easily translate to snow performance. And, of course, it did.

“We have no doubt that this collection will stand up to both the high expectations of P.E Nation’s discerning fan base and DC’s tribe of snowboarding purists.”

I’ve had firsthand experience snowboarding in every piece from the collection and we fall into both the PE fan and snowboarding purist categories, I can confirm the universal appeal. Consider it all apré-approved, too.

The P.E. Nation X DC Shoes collection will launch on October 29 and will be available on Net-a-Porter along with the P.E Nation website. Prices range from $20 for a neck-warmer to $350 for the two jackets.
