While the current temperature might suggest otherwise, winter is in fact coming and with it comes a chance to enjoy some cosy nights in with close friends. And by close friends I mean the ladies of Litchfield Penitentiary, naturally.

What better way to enjoy the highly anticipated forth season of Orange is the New Black or follow Jon Snow’s journey from Winterfell to the Wall, then with a little mid-episode complexion clearing and skin brightening?

cream masks
Time required: two acts
A classic cream mask is still one of the easiest ways to customise your skin routine to cater to its ever-changing needs, swiftly. Feeling dry? Opt for something loaded with hyaluronic acid. Clay is amazing at de-clogging and deep cleaning. If you’ve been clocking extra hours in the office, boost your glow with vitamin c or anti-oxidants, while anything spiked with alpha-hydroxi acids will smooth texture and give your skin a gleam by the closing credits.

Facial Massage
Time required: One episode
Playing a key role in any good professional facial, massaging can have a totally transforming effect on the skin. By aiding lymphatic drainage, softening tight facial muscles and invigorating circulation, regular gentle facial massaging works to re-define facial contours and  give the skin a definite glow.

The trick to DIY facial massaging is to do it often and to work in gentle, but firm movements to release tension and drain away puffiness. It’s also essential to use a product with plenty of slip so you don’t risk dragging or pulling as the skin. Opt for a cleansing balm or facial oil.

There are countless YouTube tutorials on technique, but one of the best and easiest to follow is by Lisa Eldridge, below.
