First, she was the biggest winner of the night at the Emmy Awards on Sunday, taking home outstanding lead actress for Fleabag, Outstanding directing in a comedy series, Outstanding writing for a comedy series and Outstanding comedy series. Fleabag was nominated for eleven Emmys in total, and Jodie Comer, the star of Killing Eve, which Waller-Bridge also wrote, won best actress in a drama series.

The following day, Amazon Prime, who screened Fleabag in the US before the BBC Three series went international, signed a $91.5 million deal with Waller Bridge. The actor/writer/director will develop work with Amazon Prime until 2022, taking home over $30 million a year.

Apart from her work on Fleabag, which started its life as a humble one-woman show at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2014, and Killing Eve, Waller-Bridge has also recently voiced a robot on Star Wars, consulted on the script for the new James Bond movie and executive produced a new romantic comedy series due to air on HBO later this year. Written by Waller-Bridge’s best mate and collaborator Vicky Jones, Run is about a woman named Ruby (Merritt Weaver, from Unbelievable) whose life is interrupted when an old boyfriend (Domhnall Gleeson), now a life guru, tries to get Ruby to join him on his journey of self-discovery.

After her huge haul on Sunday night, Waller-Bridge was snapped backstage enjoying a cocktail and a cheeky fag as she basked in the afterglow.

We’re not sure how she celebrated inking the Amazon Prime deal, but we’re hoping it involved plenty of gin. She sure as hell deserves it.
