SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA: It’s been just 18 months since Céline ready-to-wear alum Michael Rider was appointed creative director of Polo Ralph Lauren Women in New York. Tasked with preserving the 50-year-old brand’s heritage hallmarks whilst simultaneously pushing the Polo women’s division forward, Rider’s brilliant modern-day nuances to classic, equestrian-inspired pieces are now available in Sydney’s Queen Victoria Building. And it’s pretty exciting.

The building – as iconic to Sydney as Ralph Lauren is to America – serves as an elegant backdrop to the Polo store’s traditional millwork detailing and is the first of five store openings in Australia in 2019.

Last night, Sydney’s style set were the first to tour the new loft-like space with GRAZIA and ICON’s Fashion Director Kim Payne styling guests in a wide-legged trouser, a classic white button-down, a tailored woollen coat or a navy sequinned blazer with gold accents. Guests included Jesinta Franklin, Pia Muehlenbeck, Kane Vato, Rachael D’Alessandro, Tom Simpson and GRAZIA and ICON’s general manager Marne Schwartz.

In September and October, Polo Ralph Lauren stores will open in Indooroopilly and Sunshine Plaza in Queensland, Emporium in Victoria and Canberra Centre in the Australian Capital Territory.
